Dining

We never go hungry in Sandbanks, and whilst we’ll soon have the luxury of our very own catering facilities (as well as delightful dining balcony!) I think we may still be tempted by some of the delicious treats on offer elsewhere from time to time! If I was a reviewer (which obviously I’m not), here’s where my head would be:

If you’re after a quick ‘take away for eating on the move’ sandwich for breakfast, you can’t go far wrong with the Haven in our eyes. Great service and quality all at a good price. Other cafes are avaialble of course, including Caff, where although it’s perhaps a bit pricier, the food is just as good and the recently opened Oriel (yet to be tried). Alternatively, Lazy Jacks at the yacht club offers a great sit down breakfast (and lunch and dinner too!) at reasonable prices and with a view like no other I know… looking out on a working ship hard.

When it comes to lunch, we love a potter up to Canford Cliffs, where you can sample a wealth of treats from Oxford’s Bakery – delicious

As for Dinner. Well where do I start?!? You can’t go far wrong with Fred’s for fish and chips, the Canford for some hearty pub grub or Rick Stein’s in your being posh. The Cliff comes highly recommended too although we’ve yet managed to get there ourselves! And they’re just the walkable ones. Within a short drive, you’ve got the Pig (recently visited by Fred Sirieux no less) and the James Martin restaurant in the New Forest. Here are a couple of pictures so you can have your own virtual taster menu!

Poole is probably the nearest town, and whilst there’s not loads to write home about with the town itself (just my view of course), there is a gem of a restaurant we found, which definitely had a nod toward french cuisine, which was obviously a win with us! Bingley’s bistro. I, for one, will definitely be back.
